I’ve started smoking again

This is something I've been thinking about for a few years. I've had my eyes on a metal smoking cabinet all that time, watching the price go up and down and the thing going out of stock then coming back in again...

Three years ago SWMBO gave me bags of wood chips and dust, slow burners, a book... But I still have no enclosure.

Sometimes, I really regret giving away my PK cast aluminium BBQ when I left the USA.

One of my friends, Foodsmoking Jo, ( Go Google ) was the pioneer of the filing cabinet cold smoker. She was a brilliant user of smoke.
I was particularly addicted to smoked mushrooms!

Mushrooms are a great idea. They form a pellicle so quickly I can see how they would work.

Well done TD. I just bought that same one but from china for cheaper. It was 12 quid delivered so not really worth thinking about making one. I was looking at smoking fish and meat using turf or peat to some. It turns out it is a time honoured tradition here in Ireland and since I just lifted a ton of it from the bog this week for fuel it looks like turf smoked everything is on the menu for winter. The smoker I made is so simple and seems to be effective, I will post the design when I have actually had some success smoking though. smoked mushrooms? who would have thought it. Must try that. x

Tried quite a few. Ceps are very good but standard field mushrooms & oysters are really good too.
