Hypothetical survival tin question

Just a hypothetical question for my own curiosity, The Tobacco tin type survival kit that a lot of people make often uses the same general items I have noticed ( fish hooks, snare wire button compass etc). Not knocking that but what I want to know is people opinions on what should go in the tin for more environment specific tins eg one for deserts one for jungles one for arctic etc. As fishing kit probably would be as useful in a desert so could be left out and replaced with something else etc.

You could use your fishing kit to catch birds or rodents in the desert, however you'd be better off preparing a desert specific kit for your journey, which probably wouldn't fit into a tobacco tin.
