Get in touch with North face they may offer to repair it but if not may have some fabric that matches. I would imagine if you stitch a patch on and then use seal sealer it would more than likley be ok as long as its not under any huge stress.

There is also a comapny called Tundra who do repairs if memory serves me .

You could try Mcnett tenacious tape which comes as clear tape[£4.80] or coloured patches[£5.20], it is a bit pricey but I have used this stuff for repairs in the past and it does the job..you can get both at
http://www.needlesports.com/
I usually carry some tape in my repair kit

I've used the simple sticky back nylon patches before Alan and they do the job good enough. In fact I had to retire a tent in the Alps this summer which I must have patched 10 years ago and it was still doing the job.
Colours are usually limited to green, red and blue usually though so it might not be the most subtle fix.

Hi Shogun
That's a bit of a bummer,I know the feeling when this happens.
Dependent on the material you might find that the self adhesive patches won't stick.
Goatboy the man to ask, he repaired my Vaude for me last year and I would say the reapair will out last the rest of the tent now.I will prob see him later today and ask him for you.

Hi Shogun,

Well after the biggie up that Belzeebob gave me I'm afraid to say that the VE25 is a mare to repair.

I had one and what a tent it is, withstand jet backwash, avalanches ( in my case ) and just about anything else.

The problem is the material, the VE25 uses a siliconised polyester fly, VERY few things stick to this stuff. It's the reason that TNF don't seal the seams. A) it doesn't need it and B) most tapes / glues won't stick to it.

If you like I'll post you instructions on how to do a normal patch but I fear it wont take on your bomb shelter. If you can wait till tomorrow I'll speak to 'Gus at TRS in Musselborough as if anyone can affect a repair he can.

High end North Face, Lightwave and Hilleberg with their Kerlon fabric all suffer from patching problems due to the silicon nature of their flys.

Will give you a shout tomorrow.

Colin.

Hi Shogun,

Spoke to 'Gus at TRS and he agrees that you'll have to be crefull how you repair due to the quality of tent. He can fix it for you if you like if you can get it to a Tiso branch. www.tiso.com ) or if you're going to do it yourself you'll have to sew a patch on - tight as you can, and then use this stuff http://www.mcnett.com/SilNet-Silicone-Seam-Sealer-P143.aspx to seal the stitching. Usually you can use Silnet's products to do a stand alone repair as the stuff sticks like an angry limpet, but due to the nature of the fabric even the Silnet glue can't be relied upon to hold. It will however seal the stitching of the patch you put on. Please do the stitching as neatly as you can by HAND as using a sewing machine whitch has a high speep can cause gaps in the fabric due to heat and speed. - They use special cooled needles in the factory.
So give it ago if you ike, PM or post here if you want more info, or if you like I can get it to 'Gus for you. Not blowing his trumpet but he's probabley the best repairer in Scotland if not the UK.
Good luck mate,
Colin.
