How to upload an avatar?

I have pics on my computer in windows photo gallery but the files seem too big and won't upload. I also have pics loaded onto photo bucket but can't see the correct code that this sites avatar loader requires?

Any help for someone who has never loaded an avatar pic before would be great.

You need to put in the direct link beginning with http// from photobucket. That'll do it.

Don't ask me how you do a signature picture with a link though. I spent hours doing mine, and then more by accident than anything.
