That is sophisticated, all I have is an outbacker portable stove, doesn't even have a damper on the flue, but I can cook basic stuff on it.
Nothing wrong with basic woodburners, but ranges are designed to be a nain source of cooking as well as heating
Indeed my grans 1930s council house had a range back in the day but coal burning not wood.
You can also get the "Apple Pi" and "Pumpkin Pi" multifuel burners from Ekol, they can be specced in various combinations- with a hotplate on top, or with a little oven above the firebox......
The place we're renovating had an old solid fuel Rayburn Royale in working condition, so I've had it refurbished and it will be going back into the kitchen......
