In this post, you will see a simple (and reversible way) to attach additional PLCE attachment points to your rucksack bergan.

Potential Usages:
To attach an additional side-pocket to the rear of your bergan/rucksack
To attach an additional side-pocket to the front* of your bergan/rucksack for hands-on/in access
To attach any additional kit via QR buckle/lanyard - Typically a walking pole
As an "in-field" repair to replace a buckle attachment that has severed, snapped or become unstable.

You will need:
An ITW Fastex 20mm / 25mm QR buckle compatible with PLCE system (other brands are available but may not be compatible)
A length of 20mm / 25mm webbing with an end stitched to form a stop.

Method - Construction:
1. Take your length of webbing and thread through the buckle section that is closest to the male/female point of the buckle
2. Thread the webbing over/under into the next buckle section and push the buckle to the end of the webbing so that the male/female section of the buckle is protruding past/over the stop formed in the webbing.

This forms the basis of the removable attachment point, to attach this to the rucksack/bergan.

Method - Attachment:
1a. Find a suitable point of your rucksack/bergan, any stitched loop/attachment point is ideal:
- This can be a MOLLE panel
- A section of the shoulder straps used to thread a hydration tube
- Any point where you are able to thread this strap behind.

1b. If you do not have any visible attachment points, consider the following areas
- Utilising the chest and waist straps as a top and bottom rung that you can slide a threaded buckle over (like rings over a curtain pole)
- Utilising any singular MOLLE loops. points
- Utilising ice-axe points

2. Take the tail-end of the strap and pass it behind your desired attachment point
3. thread the tail back through the QR buckle, if possible through the whole buckle, if not then through one of the buckle channels
4. Tuck away any excess webbing.

Apologies for the initial absence of photos but my camera is on the blink, as soon as i sort it, i will attach images.
