how do i make hide glue???

got some hide on the stove now, has been for hours and is melted down near enough.

what do i do next? do i just strain it and stoe it in a jar do i have to add any thing to the glue substance...... help please chris

I`ve made glue only once, from a dog chewing bone.
I boiled the bone for a couple of ours and then removed the remains of the dog chew and boiled the rest down to a sticky, syrup like liquid.
Then I just poured it on a plate with a plastic wrapping over it.
I let it dry over night and then broke it to small pieces that I store in an airtight plastic box.

awsome thanks but next time you make it dont boil it as it breaks down the protiens making a less strong glue.....

will do the same and dry it on a tray and keep it in a kiler jar....
