Ive watched this thread from the start and was amazed at reds video and im even more amazed at how your dutch ovens turned out you've got a real cracker now great job

Two more coats on Red and it still looks the same and I just weighed it and I think I will delegate it for someone else to carry at a smidgen over 3kg!!!!

If its got several hard baked coats on and has gone that "falt black" colour (rather than shiny brown - the camera often lies with a flash), its done

They are a weighty lump - but oh so worth it. Don't be frightened to use it as a roasting dish and casserole in your domestic cooker too - cast iron respnds well to use!
