Hi folks :)

I picked some Fomes fomentarius today for the first time and was just wondering what part of the fungus I use. Am I right in thinking this is the Amadou layer pictured or can I use the tubes too?

Thanks in advance

when you striped off the amadou/trama layer the pores can be dried and used. as it burns like coal. Horses hoof is so valued because the trama layer so thick and in common with some other species this layer will catch a spark.
