Just to let you Guys know that since joining and reading the numorous threads Ive been interested in making my own gear as thats about 90% of the fun for me the rest is testing it out adapting, altering and honing untill I have the final product as best I can get it, Being a Skin flint (Styg is my nickname at work) I love doing stuff on the cheap or adapting what ever I can find to suit.
Here (I hope the pics work) are my endeavors:- http://img244.imageshack.us/img244/7203/bushcraft001an9.jpg

All of which Im proud of, The Blade is a Helle at £8.50 made the handle out of Antler / Buffalo horn and brass.
The Fire piston (can't get it to work as yet) Buffalo horn (£1)
The Sheath V impressed as its my first attempt The leather I managed to borrow (long term) the stiching isnt very sraight but sewing has never been a strong point of mine but i will do better,
The close up is my signiture a greek pi for Phil (since found out that it should be a Phi still i've done it now.
Gotta do somthing about sleeping arangements next. :thanks:

Of course you should make your own kit, why let somebody else have all the fun? :D

The knife looks brilliant! But I would write 3.14159 26535 89793 23846 26433 83279 50288 41971 69399 37510 instead of the pi sign.. :D

I usually go to a few more decimal places when working out the diameter of a circle. :nana:

Exellent work Phil :You_Rock_
.I always considered making your own kit or parts of,as essential bushcraft. After all its like making a pot hanger out in the woods!
