(Hoarders) How do you store your kit!?

Whatever system you have, there's always an item you cant remember where you put it. Which ends up being bloody irrtating, because you just have to find it. I reckon thats the same for everyone.

My stoves, lamps and large pots are in one of the sheds in boxes or hanging, axes and saws in another, rucksacks, thermarests and sleeping bags in large walk in cupboard with fishing tackle and golf clubs and the little things are on one of the bookshelves

Stuff I use frequently or current projects are either in the shed, in the living room or packed in a bag in the kitchen.

Stuff I don't use much, projects to be re-visited - or stuff that needs space [tents/ sleeping bags] are kept in the loft or under a bed.

Clothes in wardrobe - either 'smart' [i.e. not stained/ ripped/ falling apart] work clothes or the stuff I bum around in.

That may sound messy to some but it is infinitly tidy-er than my missus' stuff

and yes there is always something I'm missing [currently it is the smaller of my billy cans- been missing for months now, but then I've not REALLY looked for it yet, I still have the other two]

Well i guess that the right to bear arms sort of negates the need to lock them up like we do here. I take Santamans point that if an intruder who is very likely armed comes into the house then having a gun to hand would be beneficial.

I would hope they are locked up where minors are present though.....

I usually have a gun on me when I take my grandkids out and about. Said minors are one of the reasons I have said guns; both to protect them and to teach them to shoot (the oldest one is 12 and has been shooting my, and his dad's, and his grandmother's pistols as well as his own rifle for several years now) When I was a minor myself I kept my own guns on the same gunrack that's now hanging in my bedroom.

Thats not secure at all, in fact IMHO its negligent but we know Americans hold different views. Thankfully you'd not get away with it in the UK where regulations are tighter.

Fortunately no government would be allowed to tell us differently.

It used to be in the cupboard, under the bed, loft, but now I am clearing the shed to provide more space for ever increasing kits.

Sounds sane and sensible to me - my mum was the shooter amongst my parents - and glad I am she was so sensible about it.
