Hi everyone,
New member here, 15 odd year rough camper.
I got into lightweight camping after walking the West Highland Way one April.
Carrying tents and cookers etc was a pain in the proverbial ...
Ray Mears was just appearing on tele, so next time we went camping, we took a tarp, a bow saw and small axe,
and never carried fuel or tents again.
I'm now into gold-panning, so I do a lot of camping in Leadhills and Wanlockhead in Southern Scotland.
Nothing fancy, just a small tarp tied to the roof-rack and pegged to the floor.
I take my own firewood as there is very little woodland that high.
Looking forward to speaking to you all over time, I'll be on the edged tools thread soon, I've nearly finished converting a Woodmans Pal into a hybrid Kukri/Smatchet.
Cheers,
Strider
