ok, so I've deciede to stick with flatbands (like fishfish's) but would like some extra power, which colour theraband would you recommend to add to gold to add power ( I like the dimensions of the hunter bands)

(http://www.thera-bands.co.uk/product.php?id_product=23 ) (just found this and seems to be best thing in the uk)

i heard someone say silver (one down from gold) just to add in between the two gold bands

the reason for this is that i have worn through two sets of hunter bands really quickly, and would like to increase the length of the bands so the stretch factor is less at my full draw.

p.s. I also find that I tended to shorten the bands a little to increase power anyway by attaching them further down the forks, (that could have been the reason for the break anyway)

edit: this brings me onto the idea of a group buy, is a group buy worth it for that 15-25% discount?

I'm no expert, but as I understand it double Theraband gold is thought to be just about perfect as a balance between draw weight and power. Have a look at Gamekeeper John's youtube videos, he has taken the time to do some testing of both single, double, and treble bands over a chrony and published the results. He recently did a video of rather more aggressively tapered bands that showed a marked improvement in speed. The other factor is the size and weight of the pouch and the projectile. A smaller lighter pouch will travel faster than a large heavy one and of course smaller lighter balls have some advantage over larger heavy ones,up to a point at least.

ok thanks stevew, wish id seen those first :)

i guess il stick with gold and an extreme taper. does that mean they are lower draw then due to the extreme taper? im assuming you could then ramp up the draw power a little to compensate and get even more out of it?

kepis i had a pair of fish bands they are 30-20 mm taper, so il see if i can get some made up by next month
