Just looking for some advice on buying a tarp, best size for use with a hammock.

Cheers Ed

Minimum you'll need is a 3x3 mtr tarp but as Shewie said you ought to go a bit larger to something like a 4.5 x 3 mtr. DD Hammocks do both sizes that are good quality at a reasonable price.

Alternatively have a look for Tenth Wonder hammocks on Ebay. They do some reasonably priced tarps as well.

Hi I recomend DD hammocks to anyone. But them I'm biased as I do group buys for them every year. If you can wait til the end of febuary when I will be starting a new GB for DD.
But whoever you buy from you will need a 3x3mtr minimum

If you're hammocking I think that you need a tarp at least 4m long, unless you're using a 3 X 3 in a diamond configuration. I use a True North Big Tarp, and that's all that's stopping me buying that WB tarp off Rich.

Cheers, Michael.

Until recently I used a DD Tarp XL (3 x 4.5m) or a Tatonka tarp 1 TC (4.25 x 4.5m) for hammocking.

I've just added a Warbonnet Superfly to the mix for backpacking trips...
