Hey everyone,

I'm Chris of Teddy's knives based in Surrey.
I was a long term member of British blades back in the day and I'm now in edge matters as well as here.

A bit about me - I used to be a police officer but it nearly destroyed my head - I started making knives and metal detecting as a way of taking my mind off work.

In 2022 I resigned and officially went full time knife maker - eventually the business has evolved into me teaching experience days where myself and students make culinary knives.

Anyway, I only really make culinary knives but I have been into knives since my grandad gave me a small sheath knives when I was in the cubs - around 30 years ago and I've never been without a collection of knives and one in my pocket where allowed since!

I'm sure I met some of you again the last sharp show and I'm sure a lot of you were on British blades and may still be on edge matters.

I am a big supporter of trying to help new makers so if I can help any budding hobbyists with the heat treat of simple carbon steels please reach out, as long as postage is covered both ways I am regularly running heat treats and happy to help!

Kind regards to all and happy new year

Hi Chris, welcome to the forum. Fellow maker here. I was on British blades for a few years before it disappeared, also on Edge Matters, though i don't post on there too often.
