Has anyone ever used dental floss as leather thread

It also looks suspiciously like the number 4 sail twine that I sew sails with..'cept sail twine doesn't have a nice smell..:) :)

Would it last a long time being synthetic or is it made to break up like most stuff now (carrier bags, plastic watering cans going brittle, etc)?
Never tried dying it but it soaks up the blood from over hard brushing (yep, I know it sounds gross)

BTW I like the new Avatar Wayland

I've used it to sew up my rucksack, the crutch of my trousers, & to sew the loop on my tree hugger's.
They are still going strong.

I've used it a lot, doesn't take dye well though. Never bothered me too much for the projects I've used it on as I know it won't take the dye. It's a cheap alternative for big projects.

No, not used it for sewing leather, but I have used fine braided kite string for that job, strong and works well, but doesn't really take a dye.
I do keep meaning to add a spool of dental floss to my sew kit, just in case.
