Has anyone ever used dental floss as leather thread

I've used it on myself a couple of times. Pretty sterile and a smooth pull through. Also used it for clothing repairs and some once held my old coal board boots together for weeks.
Not very keen on the tape type floss. Tends to fray easier when exposed to abrasion.

You got it Steve, works a treat on wool and I've worn it extensively for a couple years and it's still going strong. 99p to do a big smock double stitched by hand with plenty left over...
