Hi

I was in Decathlon this morning and was looking at the SOLOGNAC Inverness 300 green trousers

Double thickness , water and thornproof .. they seemed excellent quality for £44.99
Two year guarantee with them as well

Anyone got these or heard anything good or bad about them ?

Cheers

Andy

Hi there
Yes I know, and own some of this brand. It is, as you say, the Decathlon, hunting brand.. they have a different brand name for each specialist outdoor branch they do... Camping is Quechua, fishing is Capelan, fitness stuff is Domyos etc.....
Its not bad gear for the price. I got a fleece and a couple of cool max type T-shirts and they have been great. The realtree coats look very nice I must say. I like the fact its all either OD or realtree type camo.

In general I find their stuff very well designed. I had a breathable hiking jacket by Quechua that had loads of features you see on garments from high end brands at three times the price.

The bottom line is they are cheap, so there is a reason. I've always been impressed by their attention to detail, Decathlon has a very good R&D branch, but I've ultimately been disappointed by the quality of the materials used. But these days who doesn't cut corners and farm out to China.... just because your clothes say North Face, or what ever doesn't mean they'll last or be better.
My feeling is they are a bit like the Jack Pike gear. Lots of thought in the design, but made to a price...Knowing this its up to you if you like the garment in question.
But for a pair of overtrousers you can't really go wrong...

cheers
Gareth

I've got a pair of their trousers kicking about somewhere, the fabric is really nice but the fit is a bit funny on me. Plenty big enough round the waist but tight as hell round the crotch and top of the legs.
