A friend of my Father-in-Law has recently passed away. He was a keen Falconer and while two of his birds have homes to go to, there is a male Harris Hawk that needs to be re homed still.

If anyone has a genuine interest in taking the bird on, please drop me a pm.

The bird is located in the Eastcote area and will require collection, although some arrangement may be possible for meeting part way.

Pity you are so far away. I have a female harris here that is in need of some company.

Hope you get a good home for him.

All the best..............Ian

ps.....do you know how old he is?

Stew, the hawk would be for me, I just need to phone someone I know who MIGHT have suitable accommodation until I can get my own sorted.
I've been wanting a Harris for a while now, to hunt with, and maybe an Eagle Owl later.
Do you know if the hawk is a hunter, and if so is it fur or feathers?

Cheers.

I believe that they do a trip up to Scotland each year but I don't know if it's already happened/if they're doing it this year....

No idea on age though.

Don't know on fur/feather.

You do know that males are smaller and not as suitable for hunting as females, right?

Hi Stew.
Yes I know about male/female birds of prey :)
There are a couple of things I would need to know before I travelled that far to collect it, though.
Such as has it ever hunted before and when was the last time it hunted, or has it been used just to breed?
Also, is it a 'screamer' ?
I'll PM you my number as it will probably be best if I talk to your FiL, like you say.
Thanks for replying.

Cheers.
