......for the next few days, a little valley in the South Downs. I’ll take a few more pics.

It’s a lovely place, just a stones throw from where Wests Wood Fair is going to be in early June. I’m just going to to chuck pis at you, got back this evening all smoky and grubby. :)

Just bought a big Coleman 3-5 day cool box, pre-cooled it really works well, we still had 3 bags of ice left tonight. So we had a gin and tonic :). Actually not as happy at home as we were up there, we’re just naturally at home under canvas with our dogs. Our dogs, well, we didn’t really need another, but this is Tyson. He was the absolute best mate of my father in law, who passed not long ago. This little Patterdale chappy has never been camping before, he was good as gold, really enjoyed himself in the woods bombing about after pheasants. :)

Meet Tyson of Tollard Royal, who has a certificate naming him “The Worst Behaved Dog in the Village”. :D

That bit of stick is actually an antler tine he found in a ploughed field. It was once the top of a walking stick.

I’m going to have to get a bigger vehicle to ferry these additions about, a 3dr Rav isn’t able to carry it all.

Few more pics of a lovely couple of days out.

Cutlery for the event was a simple choice, finesse only, I’m not carving feathersticks. A 3/4 tapered tang Mike Reid delicately encrusted in Harris Tweed micarta. A really beautiful knife, came with a wonderfully formed leather sheath, and I tried to pay the man for it, but he really wouldn’t accept much.An absolute peach in hand, light and deft. If you read this Mike, then my thanks. :)

In keeping with light and deft, the Boker+ Slack is just scrummy, I’m so pleased Noddy posted it on RealOutdoors or it would have gone past me. It’s not really a Sodbuster, more Navaja. It’s slick, slim, light (BB Urban weight), extremely capable, and has a better lock up than any Spyderco. Slightly over length, but not so much it’s going to bother me.

Baggage etc.

5.11 holdall, Wynnchester holdall (too cool), Berghaus Munro. Para 2 (you’re not camping without one really eh?), copper Lumintop and latest Mk Zebralight with neutral LED.

Cooking etc.

Alpkit Koro and Ti mug. Primus Litech everything else. Cannot fault Litech, brilliant pans etc. Not in pic but we used the trail kettle for Italian sausage tortellini later. Which wasn’t great to be honest, so avoid Sainsbury for that.

External lighting. The Feurehand is by far the better buy. The little Petromax is pretty, but rusts like a *******, is finicky to put a new wick in, and the handle fell off as I was hanging it up.

Indoors of the 4m bell. Synmat 9 LW, Thermarest, DD bag, Coleman Big Basin, Endicotts biggest, feltiest, snuggliest, best, Dutch Blanket. I get warm just thinking about this blanket. :):):)

On a vanilla holiday right now in Jersey, can’t wait to get back and solo camp under canvas, well jealous mate looks great. Thanks for posting pics :)

Hiya John, keep on the good foot fella, we needed a break after recent events.

Pics, and this is to all who post here..... keep the place alive. Does anyone want to click on a link? Even the thumbnails the forum allows as files need to be clicked on to enlarge the image. A wee bit of effort with Postimage and I posted what I wanted people to see, as in, just there see in full glorious technicolour. :):)

It’s not hard to put full size pics on the site, we all need to do it to show everyone stuff. Nobby8126, whatever his name is hosts great videos. He has to download to YouTube, then embed it here. It’s not difficult.
