Hang 2 hammocks side by side spreader bar?

This may be a silly question but I wonder if anyone has ever tried hanging 2 hammocks side by side maybe from 2 wide trees using some kind of bar to push them apart at the ends.
WHY? I could use 1 tarp and maybe if SWMBO came along she would feel cosy.

I think balance would be the problem. You would have to match each other lb by lb and jump in at the same time.
Could be fun.

Just find a spot with one tree at one end and a Y shape or 2 tree a foot or 2 apart at the other. Tie to the different trees and the hammocks stay separated but under one tarp

Better off finding 3 trees, with 2 close together. That way you can share the tarp but won't send swmbo into orbit when you get back in from a pee break and won't have to mess with spreader bars

you can hang two hammock from 3 trees using 1 tarp you just need the 3 trees to be in a V shape. you can also use two tarps if the trees are not in a tight enough V look through the pics in my Scotland trip http://www.bushcraftuk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=89458

I have spent many nights next to Eloise in separate hammocks... As has been mentioned, find 3 trees and hammock in a V shape or find two big trees and sleep next to each other.
