Hi All,

Off to Oz soon, travelling and working, and looking for a hammock.

Liked the look of the Hennesy as all in one, but heard mixed opinions.

I like it as was all in one, fly, tarp etc.

Also looked at the DD modular, but would then need a tarp to cook under.

The area i'm going to in Oz hits 40 in the summer, but -5 at night in their winter.

Need a fly sheet, and rain cover!

Advice please!

Oh, also spoke briefly via facebook with UKHAMMOCKS- only bugger is I leave the UK on the 11th Feb, and I think that's longer than their waiting list!!

You're going to want an under quilt. Either that or a cheaper fix for "cold butt syndrome" is a roll of Reflectix cut down to size - slide it in your sleeping bag and sleep directly on top of it. I have a Warbonnet Blackbird hammock with a Maccat Deluxe tarp. If you're serious about hammock camping where it will get cold, you need to get an under quilt and a top quilt. Those will keep you warm. Remember that as you are suspended in the air, the wind is blowing directly across your back and wicking your warmth away. I love hammock camping but you have to be prepared.
