Had a go at carving a few wood spirits

Love the look of these wee fellas so decided to have a bash and quite please how they turned out. The first one was a disaster due to the soft wood, but think the other 2 aren't bad.

The woods I've used so far are still a bit 'flaky' so would be interested to hear what wood other people use for detailed carving. Also do you know the wood type for the one on the right?

good work a small version for a neck pendant would look good. ive got a merlin man with a kyanite crystal neck pendant i wear it every time we do something spiritual
