Goretex and immersion in water question

Thanks for that, chaps, and thanks for the links, rik. I was wondering about neoprene over breathables, as I know they are cheaper, and also like the fact they keep you warm (I know how cold the water can get in the UK, even in summer.
Anyone here prefer neoprenes to breathables?

Just to keep you up to speed - I got some army goretex boot liners, and will be soon embarking on my project. Will let you know how it goes.

Neoprene is very good when in cold weather conditions.

BTW, for sale there are also the so-called Gore-tex patches. With proper seam-seal I guess you can get the end result you want.
