Made me remember my days training at Ju Jitsu when we had a kick boxer join the club. He was talking the talk, and eventually I had a brief session with him.
He was jumping and spinning, waving his feet in my direction an awful lot, so I let him get on with it. The end came as he spun round to kick me in the head, I dropped to one knee and punched him on the inner thigh - the message being clear! He stopped showing off after that and actually learnt something.
I've tried capoeria. (as well as ju-jitsu, akido, and karate. It's hard to train consistantly in the martial arts when you move every 18 months)
after my first lesson I couldn't walk for 3 days It's great training.
If it's done well it's quite effective. sadly the guy in the video put too much into flash and not enough into actual offence.
I saw a kickboxing fight in Manchester that was similar.
One local Muscle Mary and all his Stretford yardies intimidated his oponent to such an extent even the security staff walked out - they couldn't ignore it any more, and stood no chance against them.
The london lad got fed up with it 1 minute into round three (after 2 rounds of avoiding poor puches and extreme showboating) and - even though he was at least a stone lighter - looked at his trainer, then at the door, tombstoned the fool and made a sharp exit!
Unfortunately there was a riot in order to make it a no contest, but the skill and nerve of the winner was fantastic!
I saw a trailer for that film.
It purported to be the new "fight club"
Have you seen the male leads?
Not a broken nose amongst them.
Didn't bother with the film after that.
