I have been trying (In Vain) to find out more about this make of Axe
It has a forged head which is stamped with Chip Chop No 1. Gilpins Cannock. The Pol is very thin and does not have a significant wedge profile. I am therefore of the opinion that it is designed for carving or rough shaping although I have been wrong before. I would guess that it is about 50-80 yrs old, but I could be wrong about that too. Google has no idea either.
I have no particular use for this type of axe so I have listed it in the classified section. I would like to know more about it before i get rid of it though.
Anyone have a clue??
