So we moved house about a month ago to a fully refurbed farmhouse. Plenty of room and gorgeous location!

After the initial madness had worn off we started to get to know our new neighbours, when i had found most of my camera stuff i set up the tripod and waited.......

not bad for 1/6th of a second....i hope to have another go when it's lighter and i can get a faster speed and hopefully a bit sharper

We used to have a pair of little owls that nested in a hole in an old dead elm tree in a hedgerow along a path leading down to the house.....until that is, the landowner decided to cut down all the trees & rip out the hedgerow surrounding his field about 5 years ago......no idea what happened to them but haven't seen or heard them since...
I used to pass another couple about 500 meters away on doggy walks, who would stare at us from the entrance of their hole in a (live) lonely walnut tree on the edge of a field.......guess what happened to that tree last year.?

Compared to other birds of prey, they're pretty bold critters.....& noisy :D

that's cool.

We had a buzzard getting bundled by about 10 other birds the other day above our house and I was thinking it would be a great shot, i'd be fiddling about for ages trying to get setting right though so I just watched and enjoyed...
