We've been discussing bear attacks lately so when I saw this one I thought I'd share it. I hope it loads.

I couldn't get the original link to load but this one is close. Some of the info in the other link mentions that the victim has had a couple of dogs taken by gators in recent years. She was in her back yard walking the along the canal bank when it attacked her. It attacked once, retreated and attacked again trying to drag her into the water; apparently a predatory attack.

Sorta. Especially on dogs and small mammals/birds. Gators come out of the water to sun, build their nests (where they lay their eggs) and to move from one body of water to another. They will also lunge from the water to attack a near shore target like this one did (occasionally a big one will even try to board you boat to get to your dog)

They are always NEAR water though and she was walking along the bank. What's rare is a predatory attack on adult humans and that's what this appears to be.
