Late to this but Outdoor Reasaerch are superb, my current ones fasten with an inch wide Velcro strip, easy on, easy off, solid when off. Great well made kit.

I've had a pair of Barbour waxed ones for years. They've been sound and can be re-waxed to keep them waterproof.

I've got these and love them. They were on sale in Countrywide for under £30, don't know if they still are. The only problem is they don't breathe so get a bit damp inside sometimes. They do a breathable version but not waxed.

My Snolocks have been sitting unused in a box for a couple of years. Last week they were the perfect breathable gaiter for what I was doing so gave them their first outing.

7 Days snowshoeing in Scotland. Super breathable and came alive in the cold as cotton does. They stopped everthing from getting in and inside was bone dry. Nowhere near as much protection for river crossings but miles better, warmer and drier in the cold and snow than the condensation attracting Yeti's I've been using for the last few seasons. They won't sit in the cupboard anymore. :)
