Funding a charity event

I want to put a day on for some clients but they are a charity and have asked me to get the funding for them, I have done nothing like this before and I'm a little confused!
This could be an ongoing thing for potentialy quite some time, they have suggested the national lottery would be worth looking in to.

I dont suppose any of you guys and galls know anything about this sort of thing and could point me in the right direction?

Hi Scrumpy if you PM me some of the details and I'll maybe be able to help, it depends really on what sort of event you are thinking of. However the lottery tend to do one offs and not ongoing stuff. I'm away tomorrow till Sunday night so I won't be able to get back to you before then.
