Some time ago some one on a budget was asking about a reasonably priced rucksack. Cant find the thread, anyway try this link.

I have one of these it has an adjustable back support and is comfortable to wear on a long walk. I have the blue green version so its not to obtrusive in the woods. At £15 plus postage its SNIP.

I am not sure about its 'weaterpoofing' as I have not used it in a gale, buts its stood up to most things.
