looking good Andy but why did you soak it ?

Long story i was chatting with some guys in a fishing shop . One of the guys used to do Kendo and said they soaked the bamboo sword in linseed oil to stop it drying out . The rod is old so why not give it a go.

+1 for the black outlines and the accent tags between the top guides.
I don't care what they find to make rods out of next, a cane rod is on my bucket list.
For Heaven's Sake, don't forget to sign and date your refit.

Your thoughts on the corks: any changes there?

Thank you guy's for the comments on the rod.
I was in at the deep end on this project, but it was a joy in restore it. I thought about putting more bands on but i didn't in the end.
All i got to do is clean up the cork handle , As to signing it, thank you i did not think of that .
