Come along to the amazing Summer Moot (21st July - 2nd August), a festival of bushcrafting and camping in a beautiful woodland PLEASE CLICK HERE for more information.
Inspired by all the great stuff here I jumped in at the deep end and had ago myself. The metal was some scrap from somewhere and everything you see I made. Hardening the steel was slightly hectic but hey, it was worth it.
in reply to the above questions:
1 - the scales were attatched with 1 hour dry araldite.
2 - to harden in it I used a butane/propane blowtorch on full power to harden it then tossed it in the oven for 20 mins at 200 degrees celcius
3 - the handle is made from oak ( not sure which variety)
other than the blow torch and a tiny bit of electric sanding, the whole knife was made with hand tools and elbow grease
