First attempt at tooling leather

Ok ok, its only a coaster from scrap leather. (90mm x 90mm).. practice piece as i've never done it before. Couple of small errors, but overall i'm happy with it.

First try at antique staining too.

I'm going to make another 3 of these for the house, then have a go at a sheath!

There were a few surface blemishes on the leather, hence it being scrap, but if on clean leather it would have looked better.

nice one mate, knew a man of your skills would pick it up easily. The tri-weave stamps are good fun for wee things like that, but a real pain when you're using them for large projects like belts or book covers; drives me mad! ;)

Lol, hamish, i didn't even get that little bit quite right... i can imagine larger areas would be a pita. :D
