Straw Dogs
13th Warrior

Robin Hood the proper version with Patrick Bergen and Owen neale although Rickman had a good 20 minutes removed from Kevin Cost-a-lot for upstaging him
Collateral
Man on Fire
Death Hunt is fantastic
Seraphim Falls - very good, as good as Death Hunt in my opinion
The Proposition
Saving Private Ryan if only for the begining to show the true horror
Blade Runner

I’m not sure I have favourite films as such but here’s 3 that changed my life:-

All Quiet on the Western Front (1930 USA) Dir. Lewis Milestone
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0020629/
12 Angry Men (1957 USA) Dir. Sidney Lumet
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0050083/
2001: A Space Odyssey (1968 UK/USA) Dir. Stanley Kubrick
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0062622/

An actor I have a lot of respect for is Louise Brooks; in the late 1920’s, when a lot of European actors were heading for Hollywood, Brooks told the studios where they could put their ‘system’ and came to Europe were, arguably, she gave her best performances. In 1991 OMD wrote a song about her which was a modest hit in the UK, video here:-

Has anyone seen 'The Hunted' with Benico del Toro. It's a great action movie and is supposed to be roughly based on Tom Brown's experiences with the armed forces. The extras have a great bit with Tom Brown showing everyone some tracking skills. Not to be missed.!

Not that good a film, big shame. One of the big problems is Tom Brown's sponsership in the film, if they had been left to get on with it, would have been a much better film.

Anything with Brad Pitt. (Not because he's great looking, he's just been in some brilliant films - fight club, Troy, 12 Monkeys, Seven). OK, maybe because he's good looking as well!

Troy has my favorite battle scene of all time, at the start when Brad Pitt just takes out the other champion. It fails the good film test though, because I can only watch it once, and am then to busy muttering about reworking Homer to watch it again.

For me one glaring omission in an otherwise pretty good list is "The Committments" - surely one of the best "musical" movies ever made - rivals the Blues Brothers for me.

Love this film. Scene in the video shop is so funny.

The Last Samurai was surprisingly good too

Best explaination of Mind/NoMind ever.

Alltime best action? Well most of the Eastwood ones are great - any of "the man with no name" movies but "Pale Rider" perhaps or "High Plains Drifter", but if you want the best ever "Once Upon a Time in Mexico" - just a great shoot em up!

I cannot belive no one has mentioned it yet! Best western ever made, The Outlaw Josey Wales. Love that film.

Ong Bak - Best Martial arts film, ever. It is what they should be, not posing just do the job, a lot like the Bourne films, but so much better.

D13 - May be the worst dubbed film ever but the scenes of free running, and the casino fight almost make up for it.
