Went to the Great Dorset Steam Fair last week and managed to pick up a farriers rasp, finished the grind work and managed to quench and temper the blade over coals this afternoon (if you look at the colours i over cooked the tip a bit i think but the main cutting edge was a beautiful golden brown.
This is how it is looking so far, going to use 5mm aluminium tube and Plum Wood (locally sourced) for the handle, and i have just enough leather to make a studded(Old Brass) basic sheath with a dark tan. I have also left 1.5cm of the serrated edge for fire striking on the tang of the blade.
Comments welcome.
