Can anyone tell me if it is safe to use engine paint on your barbeque because i can get a small amount mixed at a local car paint shop in a few colours. thanks a lot paul...
 
Its fine i wouldn't paint any cooking surfaces though. I paint my barbecue and tent stove with it but make sure you fire it up before you use it for real as it will give off toxic fumes when first heated . After that its fine
 
Engine paint is designed to be used on hot metal parts like engines but im not sure I'd want to expose it to flame.
Fire itself is of course a chemical reaction, and I can't think of any paint designed to specifically withstand it. Why not try the stuff designed for woodburning stoves and cast iron fire places?
