electrical firelighting

Was just practacing using wire wool and a battery to create the embers etc, it worked well once but couldn't do it again, what did I do right the first time??? I think the battery still has plenty of juice, should I be preparing the wool in anyway??

The finer grade wire wool the better .. pull it slightly apart and make sure your electrical connections are close enuf together for the "spark"

Try it with a paperclip and a mini mag light .. has worked for me !

What size battery was it ?

Make sure the wire wool has plenty of dry tinder wrapped around it to catch quickly.

it was one of thse rectangular 9v batteries, why shewie?
