Hi all, new member and pretty new to Bushcraft. I've recently started a forest school leaders course and i've got to practice lots of different elements of bushcraft so that i can pass it on to the kids in my school.

I'm reading through Ray Mears Essential Bushcraft and Complete Outdoor Handbook. Looking to buy a little bit of kit for both the school sessions and myself.

Got my practical days coming up after Easter where we will be building natural shelters for a night in the woods.

I've been bouncing around the forums for about a week, and there are lots of things i am looking forward to learning more about and more importantly having a go at.

Feel free to tell me about any kit or activity pitfalls that seem obvious to older hands but not to my me.

Thanks for all the welcomes.

Spent a few hours yesterday bouncing around forums, blogs and websites finding out a little about a lot of things that i want to do and spending hundreds of pounds of fantasy money.

Looking around Swansea i found a camp site with woods to have a go in before getting too adventurous. As for kit think i will start small, a mora, a firesteel and maybe a pruning saw.

There are a lot of outdoors to have a nose about in Wales once i get my feet under me.
