Glad your back with us Mr Fenna.

I had to get a new laptop recently due to a little infarct with my computer. The Windows 8 though not as user friendly as some is pretty easy to get a handle on once you get the blinking system to stop trying to load all your info up to some cloud somewhere, which is especially annoying as like me I know you don't have the greatest of connection speeds (and I don't like my info being stored out of my direct control).
Looking forward to more of your posts and reviews in 2015.

Have a great festive time,
GB.

Well I am coming to terms with my new confuser.
It is a Quad core something or other, 1Terror-bite of memory (larger than a planet!) and is stronger, faster and all together SMALLER than my old P***** C**** as it is a Lapdog.
As I do not trust "Wireless" I still have a nest of cables, some of which I have to unplug to fit different bits and pieces - ie I cannot fit my card reader into a convenient hole if I have the external speakers in, the Interweb fitted, the mouse , keyboard, and an external memory stick in place...
The mouse is because the "touch pad" thingy is not for me! I get cramp using it....
The keyboard is for my wife/typist/secretary/accountant - she is a touch typist and finds the flat Lapdog keyboard impossible (she trained on typewriters that used real "hammer" keys .. the kind with big round heads and 2" travel, a ribbon of ink and a moving carriage return) - plus a touch typist wants to rest her wrists right where the "Touch pad " mouse thing is...
After some trials I have removed most of the stupid features of Win8 and the whole thing is workable .. though I still need to download a good Spider Solitaire!
Unfortunately I had to spend WAY over my budget to get the new confuser so alarge part of my life is being sorted out for sale...
I do not like selling 2nd hand stuff over the web as it does not let folk see the condition, so much will be going locally or end up on my table at the Moot.
However, if folk are looking for a bargain just ask if I have something you want (ie, big tarp, size 9 boots, walking poles) - it could be I have what you want!
I have "bumped" my Makers Market threads...
Happy New Year one and all!

Best of luck with the sales :)

I got a new computer too….it's a faster, and with more memory Apple Mini. It's so like my old one, that the differences are a right royal pain :sigh:
No £ sign unless I hit Alt instead of just caps; it keeps trying to alter spelling and grammar….I type the commands for the smilies but  and such like is a constant battle because it keeps trying to make me write "roll eyes"
Jamie says I am terminally resistant to change
I think my son knows me well :)

Hehe, I saw you post that last message and then the plethora of sales ones after it. This new 'puter will be helping Mr Fenna achieve world domination :D
Best of luck with the sales in the New Year sir.
P.S I believe that the touchpad mouse is also the work of Satan. Give me a proper mouse any day, have you thought about a hub? I use one and it allows me to plug in heaps of perifferals with ease & space to spare.

I've just re-read what I wrote

Well, it's how the trackpad thingie works, but I find myself stroking the worktops and such like, expecting things like the microwave to do what I want !!
Then I engage brain, and find them laughing at me
