Tested the Dutch army last night very happy with it. Can see the elan heading for eBay
Paired it with medium army sleeping bag and what maybe a 35s mat not sure. Got it on Vinted for a fiver. Been rolled up in attic for years. But quick few puffs off me it now inflates on its own like a good one . Wouldnt call it luxurious but light and ok.
Big error last night was the basha setup. Flapping like hell keeping me awake. 3am I had enough left out my sleeping bag. Slight exaggeration lol and put it away. The forecast for rain had cleared anyway.
Throughly enjoyed though. Must remember to take norgie off before walking out was sweating like pig

I’ve taken to bringing those squishy foam earplugs with me for when the weather/local environment decides to be noisy. Very cheap and they help a lot.

We are all different aren’t we?
I love falling asleep to the sound of a storm.

Perhaps growing up half a mile from Ringway Airport (before the big jets) helped.

In the days when I carried my kit on my back, pitching the tent was a decision rather than a given. I love sleeping out in the bag.

Your set up looks smart. I know that “bivi” means something different from my day. You seem to have had a great time. Here’s to many more.

Ear buds are a good idea I like the sound of rain and bit of wind but the tarp was slapping hard. Might use poncho next time less to flap. I could just got out the weather but part of the fun of that spot is nice high view. My first night out as the weather starts to change and I feel the cold. But I was nice and comfortable

Great piece of kit the Dutchie, ive not used mine in a long while now but used it regularly a few years back. Nice photo, where was that?

Because the UK has said it's going to fine Imgur over age checks. Has the UK gone totally nuts?

Anyway, I've been using my Dutch hooped bivi for dogsbodying. It's been great for both keeping the rain off, and keeping the sun off. I was out for a few hours Sunday in harsh sunlight and was very glad to be able to orient the bivi so that, with it half done up, it blocked the sun. Was going to share a photo but Flickr is currently down, now!
