Dutch Army Goretex Bivvy Bag ?

Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone had used one of the dutch army goretex bivvy bags ? like this one ?

I used to have a gtex bivvy bag with an added sleeve at the back for a sleeping mat ( both foam and inflatable would fit ) and it was superb, and I used it to destruction a couple of years ago , does anyone know if the bivvy bag mentioned above will take a sleeping mat in the insert sleeves at rear ?
And if not are any such bivvy bags with sleeves at rear available anywhere ?

PS, I know someone is going to say put the mat in the bag, but having used both methods I have to say the sleeve method is far superior

I did this some time ago and I forgot to add (although I might have mentioned it in subsequent posts) that I did not find condensation a problem although I used it in fairly benign conditions of cold and dry on snow and also damp and moderately cold. Its an excellent bag.

In answer to your questions - the kip mat holders are narrow. But I used an old style standard thermarest with it and also a narrow arktis folding kipmat that seems to work.

That is a superb review, you can't beat some practical application to get the best out of a product. If I can persuade Kitmonster to take Paypal I'm in for one !
The bag I had was a trials one and had 4 loops of climbing tape sewn across the underneath of the sleeve also to give 8 carrying handles for casevac use, maybe someone has done this also ?

I'm not sure that description on the ebay auction is entirely correct. The studs that came on mine were male on both sides, it is designed to snap on to the dutch sleeping bag which presumably has the female snaps.

Mine is the centre zip version, so I'm not 100% sure, but worth looking into before making a purchase.

Having said that, getting a zip fitted is fairly cheap and easy.

I've got one and it's great. I added a full length zip to the opening (with some very dodgy hand stitching I might add). It works a treat and I'd definitely recommend doing likewise.

hi just baught a standard gortex bivvy today and its gone straight in to have a centre zip mod put in to go with my centre zip sleeping bag ive spent out now
