How to make a simple fire piston out of hardware store material
If the barrel isn’t cracked (ref photo) and the washer isn’t perished then put a folded pinch of charcotton in the piston end. Fit together then smack the piston smartly down into the barrel. Take apart with piston upright and you might have an ember. Slip into a tinder nest and blow gently.
