land/geodetic/hydographic/engineering Surveyor lol The industry is still very quiet thats why i'm working offshore as i had to put my own survey company into tick over as there just wawsnt the contracts to even bid on. Be a while tillit picks back up in the UK but theres lots of work if you dont mind going to Africa or the middle east

But it's said with affection and a big dollop of jealousy!

You never know, I may have the opportunity to get back into the field one day. At least I live in hope! While not actively surveying these days I do head up a team of GIS techies for a national utility. That and my surveying experience means I'm currently involved in evaluating some Topcon GPS kit for the engineers capturing as-laids. Now if I can keep that side of things up maybe I'll refresh my marketable skills in a while and have a chance to go overseas.

In the meantime as John said, if you ever need anyone with a bit of experience to carry your bags ... :)
