I got delayed by leaves on the road as I crossed central London at lunch time today. They got really bad under Waterloo bridge - Darn London Plane all over the place in front of me

This guy wasn't quick enough (I believe he's OK though)

Fortunately all of us on Motorbikes pushed them along the pavement to get around it. Cars were backing up for miles almost immediately.

I stayed until the fire brigade arrived and started scratching their heads. Any bushcrafters want some wood - I believe there's plenty to go around ;)

I equate the current wind speed at Vauxhall Cross with 21 minutes of angle (MOA) to the West of target at 100 yards! And a bl--dy lot more if a .22 Hornet!

If you don’t shoot rifle this won't mean a gret deal so hows does "fear of tower crane blowing over and windows blowing out so may we please all go home" speed come across??

Cheers!

I'm in Victoria, one of our extremely large inward opening double glazed windows has just bust it catch.

Lots of reports of Trees down and bits of traffic lights hanging off.

College has a lot of trees, and it's littered with branches of varying degrees. Some scarily large. I remember in my old high school a tree crushed the canteen (at night luckily). The amount of funding they got for a new one makes me think they coaxed the tree that way themselves!

I think about the amount of force wind can have on e.g. an umbrella....scale that up and the force on a tree in these kinds of winds must be massive! They hold up suprisingly well. I don't suppose anybody has a figure for this? Great pictures btw!
