Hi Guys,

At the risk of repeating an earlier question or indeed appearing as daft as I really am, can anyone give or point me in the direction of a tutorial about using the DC4 Sharpening tool.

As ever, all help hugely appreciated.

Thanks

Rough silver side for taking off a lot of metal and brown ceramic side for polishing. The action required is upto preference but i use in single strokes blade first ie cutting the stone.
Some prefer a rotating circular motion. Get a few old knives and practice is the best way to learn ;)

Also the stone gets a lot better once you have taken the inital factory finish of it which doesnt take long.

That reminds me i have to glue the two grades back together after it split last night sharpening my EDC :( lol

The above link gives a good tutorial but rather than using small nails to keep the stone still when in use I prefer to use a bit of non slip mat like you can get for car dashboards, or to go under rugs that are put ontop of wooden/laminate flooring. Either way the DC3 or DC4 is a great bit of kit IMO.

Thanks guys, and thanks Bard....I know you sharpened my knife with my DC4 when we met but stupidly I didn't watch closely enough how you did it! DOH

I'll try and meet you at the weekend.
