Day in the woods plus some cooking!

Been wandering locally and today was checking out some new woods. Trees are mainly Birch and Cherry.

Found a group of Bottoms hiding under a branch...

There was an abundance of Polypores and lots of King Alfred's so I got a bag full to pass on to someone here...

Needed some fire lighters for my BBQ so got some Birch bark...

Stumbled along several things on the way, this skull??

Large chunk of Flint with a fist size group of crystals...

And unfortunately some man made finds...

Anyway, found a nice spot to stop for some lunch and fired up my new mini BBQ made from a small roasting tin and cake cooling rack using that bark to light it...

On went the steaks...

Had some noodles while waiting and also a cup of yuk coffee. I think the coffee-mate was off!! Steaks almost done...

Heated up the Pepper sauce and smothered steaks using upturned food container as a plate....

Like my steak rare....Jobs a good un!

Cleaned up camp and went home!

I did! Next time I will remember to take a plate and fork and check the date on the creamer!

My stomach has started to rumble .No mention of the chirizo,doesn't go with steak and pepper sauce i suppose.

Went on another safari today and the burnt offerings to the stomach gods were...

Came across a strange large Chicken all by itself in a field, didn't know quite what to make of it but it didn't seem scared of me. Got within 15 yards of it but the light was poor and the pic is not so great...
