Got back yesterday, my wife booked it for my birthday and she found somewhere that would take the boys and was near her parents - so we could ditch the kids.
The accomodation was exactly my sort of this, not too posh, walkers, real ale and dogs asleep in front of the fires. The stretch to my stomach from the size of the breakfast has just abated 36 hours later.
Well worth it if you are a dog walker: http://www.theforestinn.co.uk/home.htm
We found a swing by some stepping stones and my wife had to have a go
The views were great with the sun blazing away
Then we headed to laughter and Bellever tors with the dogs having a ball
and the red dog offering photo opportunity after opportunity
my wife even took a photo of me I quite like:
Then I broke out the bushbuddy for a brew of soup:
I made sure there was no sign when we left and headed back to beautiful colours and sunset
Then ale and a big rabbit and bacon pie at the Forest Inn, a long soak and a lie in.
Great weekend.
