I've had a Teflon Crusader Cup for a while and potentially it's a good bit of kit.
The only problem is that any time I have tried to use it leaves a terrible taste in my mouth.
Has anyone else found this?

I have had it in the dishwasher several times but it doesn't seem to have made any difference.
I thought it might be a residue on the ptfe coating
Does anybody know of some way to take the taste away?

Any advice would be appreciated

I know what you mean, I used to have the same problem on my Canadian-issue canteen cup.

There's two solutions:

a) Boiling water and lemon juice. Leave it in there until the water is cold. Toss, rinse, repeat.

b) Boiling water and baking soda. Same as above instructions.

Teflon is poisonous, but only if it starts to peel and flake off. If it's fresh, there's no scratches or peeling, you'll be fine once you clean it. Just keep in mind that it's metal, and there will be some residual taste.

PS: If neither of the two options work, a last resort is ammonia. Just make sure you wash it out well afterwards!

I find that dishwasher detergents leave nasty residues sometimes... Try washing it the old-fashioned way. ;)

Drink a mug of strong coffee before you eat/drink from it - that generally removes the taste of anything afterwards! Or use mints!

Seriously though, boiling water and lemon juice seems to be quite effective at sterilising and removing bad tastes from anything - especially any milton residue from flasks.

And to think I never though to wash it by hand using washing up liquid
Thanks for the tips about the lemon juice and denture cleaner,I will give them a go and see how I get on. :)
