Heh there I've had a small crook knife (spoon knife) for some time and have never really managed to sharpen it properly. This has led to many broken carves and cut fingers, anyone know how it should be done? I have a three sided Arkansas novaculite stone, a spyderco ceramic rod set, a fallkniven dc3 stone and a Tregor hm knife rod stone at my disposal.
Any thoughts? Cheers guys

find a bit of dowel that will fit in the hook and wrap some wet and dry paper around the dowel and use it like a file.

you can also add honeing(sp) paste to a leather shoe lace and use it as a strop.

Get a 1.5-2cm diameter stick, and glue a peace of veg tanned leather arround it with simple contact glue. Wrap sandpaper arround for rough grounding, and lead that peace of leather with black cut compound for honing.. Make simmilar stick, but load leather with green chrome polishing compound for finishing.. It works every time..
